Boston's neighborhood newspapers

One of ACJ's missions is to support locally-owned and owner-operated media outlets in greater Boston. In the case of papers based on a common culture or ethnicity, if the paper is either owned or operated by members of that culture or ethnicity, it qualifies.

We believe that locally-owned and owner operated papers are naturally more accountable and have greater potential to reach their communities and foster civic activity. Generally speaking, they are more inclined to be comprehensive in their neighborhood coverage than giant newspaper chains with out-of-state owners and shareholders to answer to.

Here is a partial, growing list of locally-owned or owner-operated newspapers in Boston.
